Changing One Life at a Time

T.I.T.F.

The TITF was founded to follow the dreams of Taekwon-Do's founder General Choi Hong Hi. He wanted to spread Taekwon-Do to every part of the world without politics. He was not concerned with money, only changing lives.

The TITF was made for everyone, young, old, male, female, and is not bound to once single system of Taekwon-Do. The world of Taekwon-Do has two major systems, Olympic and Traditional. Traditional system was created by the founder as a means of self defense, physical fitness and a means to better yourself spiritually, and mentally. The Olympic system holds many of the same values however is primarily designed as a martial sport for the Olympics. Therefore the training and techniques between the systems can differ in many ways. This does not make any one system better than the other. The differences are what make us strong. Allowing the differences to flourish attracts new members to both the schools and the organizations. The end goal is Taekwon-Do for everyone.

As an individual of school owner you will need to make the choice for yourself. Do you continue with all the other sheep, paying high fees to a federation that only cares about the income you bring them? Do you chose a federation that cares about their members, offers fair examinations fees with no politics. A place where you can truly earn your ranks through hard work and dedication to the art of Taekwon-Do. This is what the Traditional International Taekwon-Do Federation is all about. Changing the world one life at a time.

A lot of people ask are we an ITF organization or a Kukkiwon affiliated organization. The answer is we  accepts all Taekwon-Do systems. The founder, Grand Master Dafyd Haase, was a student of the Taekwon-Do founder General Choi Hong Hi, and a 9th Degree Black Belt in the ITF system. The ITF had a policy of excepting any martial artist from any system. They would accept and convert them to the ITF system. Grand Master Haase felt this was a step in the right direction. However to truly appeal to all Taekwon-Do stylists he felt that converting these students and instructors was not the answer. The best thing would be to accept them with their current system and rank. That way everyone could continue to train and advance with no set backs and all under the umbrella of one organization. One Taekwon-Do. To Grand Master Haase the moral code was the most important element, not the techniques.

The ITF organization that Grand Master Haase belonged to and everyone loved splintered into many fractions when the founder General Choi Hong Hi passes in 2002. He was a great man and leader. The world will never be the same. As a result of this splintering none of these organizations have a 100% claim to the organization and system. As such we believe the ITF ceased to exist at this point. We understand many people have joined with one of these factions to try and hold on to the legacy of General Choi Hong Hi. The founder was really never interested in wealth. So why join an organization that charges an outrageous amount for their certification? Their documents are no more or less valid than any other organization.

Within the TITF we try and keep the prices at a level everyone can afford. We service all members equally and do not give people special treatment just because they have a higher rank. So many of these organization have politics like this, we do not. This is mostly due to the structure. We have just one leader, one person to deal with, the founder and president of our organization. So a 1st Dan running their school received exactly the same service as a 7th, 8th or even 9th Dan.

The TITF is also the only international organization that openly welcomes people regardless of their sexual orientation, religion, or what gender they identify with. Transgender members can request their documents in the name they want even if that is not their legal name. Also transgender members can compete in the division they identify with. We believe that everyone is truly equal. Members should be permitted to love who they love, and live their lives as their true self with no limitations.
